Vision:
Thorold Minor Baseball believes that the Select Baseball program is a crucial opportunity for house-league players who want to develop their skills, grow, compete at higher levels, and participate in more baseball than house-league typically offers.
We are committed to making the Select Baseball program affordable and accessible while ensuring it does not overwhelm families who are also participating in house-league. The focus of the program is on development.
Thorold Minor Baseball recognizes that Select Baseball requires dedicated focus and resources. We also believe that Select Baseball can complement the Rep program and enhance the overall experience for players.
Goals:
- To provide a thoughtfully planned, progressive development program for interested players, even if their development does not result in selection for a Select team or if a Select team is not available at their age level.
- To offer additional levels of competition for house-league players who have the interest, skill, and availability to participate in higher levels of baseball.
- To give players the opportunity to compete in Select games and tournaments, further developing their skills and enhancing their overall experience with Thorold Minor Baseball.
- To provide players with development opportunities that may increase their chances of advancing to the Rep level.
- To offer Rep-level teams a roster of potential "call-up" players if needed.
